George Bush Now On Special Air Mission 28000
As George W. Bush prepared to leave the White House today, he left a note in the Oval Office for his successor, President Barack Obama. After he handed over the reins, and was greeted with boos by the crowd, Bush left the inauguration celebration headed for Texas. Instead of being on Air Force One, the blue-and-white aircraft he was so familiar with, he instead will be on Special Air Mission 28000.
Special Air Mission 28000 was waiting on the Bush family at Andrews air hangar. The Bushes will be flying to Midland, Texas and won’t be around for the rest of the festivities. On his last moments in office, Bush took care some small tasks early this morning. According to reports, Bush was in his office before 7AM EST, there he made calls to former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley, and former White House chief of staff Andy Card. Just for old times sake, he took one last stroll around the south grounds of the White House before heading to his last official destination aboard Special Air Mission 28000. Once Special Air Mission 28000 lands, well wishers will greet the Bush family once they land in Midland at Centennial Plaza. Midland is where he met the future first lady, Laura Bush. After the rally, the Bushes will fly to Waco, Texas on their way to their 1,600 acre ranch near Crawford. Bush leaves behind a legacy of war, recession and the biggest terrorist attack on U.S. soil in history. George Bush also has the dubious distinction of being the most unpopular president in history according to polls taken. And the audience at today’s inauguration festivities let him know it. When a television broadcaster announced, broadcaster announce, "George Bush is no longer president of the United States''—the audience cheered. While others in the crowd, broke into chants of "Na-na-na-nah, hey, hey, hey, goodbye.'' That is probably the same chant they sung as Special Air Mission 28000 crossed the Washington D.C. skies. |
